Beef Stroganoff Sandwich


2 lbs. ground beef

1/2 c. chopped yellow onion

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

1 loaf French bread

4 Tbsp. margarine

2 c. sour cream

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

1 green pepper, diced

3 c. shredded cheddar cheese


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.

2. In a skillet over medium high heat, cook ground beef with onion until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain if necessary. Stir in salt, garlic powder and pepper.

3. Cut bread lengthwise in half; butter each cut side and place on baking sheet cut side up.

4. Stir sour cream into meat mixture and then spread evenly on both bread halves. Sprinkle with tomatoes, green pepper and cheese. Bake 20 minutes.
