Ground Beef: Italian-Style Salisbury Steaks

Italian-Style Salisbury Steaks

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

1 egg

1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

½ c. seasoned bread crumbs

½ tsp. garlic powder

½ tsp. ground black pepper

1 lb. ground beef

1 Tbsp. canola oil

1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic, undrained

1 can (8 oz.) Italian tomato sauce

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients.

Crumble the beef over the mixture and combine.

Shape into four oval patties.

In a hot skillet with canola oil, brown both sides of the patties. Drain if needed.

Combine diced tomatoes and tomato sauce in a bowl. Pour over the patties in the skillet.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

This pairs will with buttered noodles or mashed potatoes.
